We are a Masonic Lodge founded in 1950 for students and staff of Southampton University which has embraced the opportunities of the Grand Lodge Universities' Lodges' Scheme. We extend to both potential members of Freemasonry and members of other Lodges who are away from their home – especially because of university commitments – the benefits of either joining, or of visiting, a very friendly ‘host’ where you can start or, continue to enjoy, your membership of the Craft.
We are also a Receptor Lodge for members from other University Lodges. Please then if you became a Master Mason in one of these lodges, are in Southampton for a fairly lengthy time, either for employment or postgraduate study consider joining us. Please do not worry if you may have to eventually leave because of another move. This after all is modern life and the Lodge adapts itself to incorporate these changes.
Further we take great pride in the fact that our members include men from a wide variety of trades, professions and religions, or what may be called ‘The University of Life’. We are not solely an 'academic Lodge' The large growth in our membership reflects the holistic mixture of trades, talents and backgrounds.
